Flávia Barbosa

Flávia Barbosa is a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at IUCS-CESPU, where she also completed her BSc in Biomedical Sciences. She holds an MSc in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Aveiro, with a dissertation on the antitumour activity of chiral xanthone and flavonoid derivatives. She is a member of the UNIPRO research unit, participating in projects including FLV4CANCER-GI2-CESPU-2025 and RECAP-DC, focused on tumour cell metabolism, antitumor activity of chiral flavonoids, and mitochondrial reprogramming to overcome multidrug resistance. She has published as first author in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and contributed to other scientific publications, with presentations at national and international conferences. She has co-supervised internships in Biomedical and Forensic Sciences and volunteered as a monitor in biochemistry and research internships for Biomedical Sciences students. She has participated in CESPU-funded research projects since the beginning of her research career.
