Ana Rita Pedro graduated in Veterinary Medicine at Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences from University of Porto (ICBAS-UP) in 2013, after completing an internship at Vila do Conde Agricultural Cooperative (CAVC), where she focused on the effects of mycotoxins on dairy cattle immune status. She completed an externship at the Clinic for Cattle of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, an internship at the Clinic for Large Animals of UTAD (University of Trás-os Montes and Alto Douro), and worked for 3 years at the Nutrition Department of CAVC. Afterwards, Ana Pedro won a PhD Fellowship of the SANFEED Programme (Sustainable Animal Nutrition and Feeding), a Doctoral Programme in Animal Science in an industrial setting. Her PhD thesis was defended in 2023 and adressed the effects of dietary supplements on animal immune responses. Ana Rita Pedro was an Assistant Professor at Vasco da Gama University School (EUVG) and is now an Assistant Professor at Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário (CESPU). She lectured Large Animal Internal Medicine, Herd Medicine, Animal Nutrition and lectures Animal Nutrition, Immunology and Large Animal (livestock) Semiology. Her main interests are disease prevention, the effects of nutrition on animal health and immune system and feeding strategies to reduce the incidence of disease.
